This steel is designed as a finishing steel. Using light pressure (the weight of the knife), this steel will produce a razor edge for the working person's knife. Commonly used as the last step in sharpening on the jobsite.
NOTE: This is an aggressive abrasive that can do more damage than good IF used improperly and should be avoided on the use of finer edges, common in Japanese knives.
